Installing an R2.8 in my 79 FJ40 and the engine won't start unless the 12v power comes from accessory instead of constant power. This is contrary to the install manual any ideas?
You feed wire needs to be hot in the start and run position of the starter switch, some connections loose power when the key is rotated to start. Double check.
