Remote oil filter lines. What fittings?

I pulled the remote oil filter lines when I installed the engine. One is clearly AN/JIC, but what style fitting is the other?

Are you wanting to use different fittings or just modify the hose length? The fittings supplied are barbed and when I modified mine for a test, I cut my factory hose off and pushed a new hose on adding clamps for good measure. If you have these hoses off, be sure to keep debris out of the oil ports both on the filter head and the oil cooler. Also, clean the lines out before reinstalling.

FYI - We also do not recommend extending the length of the lines as the longer they are, the more they could possibly delay the oil supply to the crank and rods at cold starts.

I was more curious. I expected to see 2 ANs. If anything, I would try to shorten them if anything, but it's good to know the specs if I need to modify anything. I will pay attention to the length.

Anyone consider an oil accumulator for startup? Longago they were added to feed oil to the turbo at shutdown. Might be an option here?
I've yet to pull the trigger on a 2.8 but haven't dismissed it yet either, the project would be a 62 scout with an ax15 and dana 300.

The two fittings on the remote oil filter are -10 JIC and M26 x 1.5, 24° flareless (DIN 2353 Light)

I was able to use the stock hoses, but know the sizes helps if I need to make replacement hoses in the field. Thought I would share.

On my 2022 R2.8, it came with a mounted oil filter at the front of the engine, the adapter to use with the remote filter seems to be a -12 JIC and a M30 x 1.5 by my calculations, can anyone verify this?

M30 x 1.5 - 6H w/ 30 degree flare and a 1 1/16 -12 UN-2A w/ 37 degree flare is what I'm seeing in the Cummins option drawing for that connection at both the filter head adapter and the remote filter head.

Would you have any idea where to purchase 90 degree fittings for both of these if I decide I need to use the remote mount? On the TJ that you put together, could you have used the fixed mount front oil filter without interference with the front axle pumkin? My TJ has a 4 inch lift, but it also has a Currie high pinion 8.8 axle.

This was a pic from that build progress with the suspension at full squat (no springs). I had the remote oil filter in mind from the start for the shop order so I had this first engine upfit with it before we installed it into the TJ. It would be close but the engine could have also probably been raised a bit if need be.

I will have to look at the engine again tomorrow, I have the extra short oil filters and hopefully with the 4 inch lift and extended bumpstops, the upper 4 link arm won't hit the oil filter. If it does, I will source the fittings to angle the hoses out, but the height of the adapter and the 90 degree fittings might be close to the same as the short oil filter. If my adapter would hurry up and get here, I could stop being a paper designer and get this swap done! LOL

Looking at another photo of the engine with the filter in place, it might just clear with the short filter and maybe I could even run the medium height filter. I have a 1 inch body lift, so I might try and hold the engine as high as possible when I weld in the motor mounts.
